Vienna Educational Mission | Day Five
The final day of the program, which combined educational, expert, and cultural formats, was a logical conclusion to the intense week.
UN Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA)
For the first time during the mission, participants took part in a roundtable discussion with interns and young professionals from the CTBTO Preparatory Commission, IAEA, Youth Leader Fund, and UNODA. The conversation focused on youth engagement in disarmament processes, career development in international security, and prospects for future collaboration within global initiatives.
Open Nuclear Network (ONN)
At the premises of the think tank Open Nuclear Network, participants delved into modern approaches to reducing nuclear risks through open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysis. Moreover, they stepped into the role of analysts themselves, assessing the likelihood of a nuclear test being conducted by November 1, 2026.
Russian Embassy in Austria
The delegation visited the historic building of the Russian Embassy and St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in Vienna. Here, they learned about the history of the diplomatic mission and the cultural role of the Russian community in the Austrian capital.
The educational mission concluded with an official reception hosted by the Russian Permanent Mission to the International Organizations in Vienna.
This program once again demonstrated that education, diplomacy, and science are interconnected tools for building a sustainable global security architecture, where youth plays a pivotal role.
