The Future Begins with a Dream

From 21 to 27 June, the III Obninsk Tech Summer Nuclear University brought together young professionals from around the world in Obninsk.

Among the participants were alumni of the Primakov Center's programmes, who spent the week discussing the future of nuclear technologies, exchanging ideas, and working together to address the challenges the industry is already facing today.

What made the week memorable?

Lectures by leading industry experts
Work on practical case studies in thematic groups
Technical visits to nuclear facilities, including the world's first nuclear power plant
New professional connections and projects

One of the highlights of the programme was participation in the IV International Youth Nuclear Forum "Obninsk NEW", dedicated to the theme "The Role of Dreams as a Driver of Personal, Professional, and Technological Development."

Participants were addressed by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, and Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha.

This is how a dream stops being an abstract idea and becomes the first step toward new solutions, international collaboration, and the technologies of tomorrow.

Будущее начинается с мечты

С 21 по 27 июня в Обнинске прошел III Международный летний атомный университет «Obninsk Tech Summer Nuclear University».

В течение недели молодые специалисты со всего мира, среди которых — выпускники программ Центра Примакова, обсуждали будущее ядерных технологий, обменивались опытом и вместе искали решения для вызовов, которые уже сегодня стоят перед отраслью.

Одним из ключевых событий программы стал IV Международный молодежный ядерный форум «Обнинск NEW», посвященный теме «Роль мечты как источника развития: личного, профессионального и технологического».

К участникам обратились генеральный директор ГК «Росатом» Алексей Лихачев, министр науки и высшего образования России Валерий Фальков и губернатор Калужской области Владислав Шапша.

Именно так мечта перестает быть абстрактной идеей и становится первым шагом к новым решениями, международным проектам и профессиональному сотрудничеству.

Primakov Readings Youth Session 2026: A Look Back

From June 20 to 25, Moscow hosted the 9th Primakov Readings Youth Session, organized by the Primakov Center in cooperation with the Council of Young Scientists and Postgraduate Students of IMEMO.

This year, the program brought together 21 young researchers and professionals from 10 countries: Bulgaria, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.

What made this year's Youth Session memorable?

Five days of expert discussions on global politics, international security, and the world economy

Presentations of participants' own research aligned with the session topics

Participation in the 12th International Scientific and Expert Forum "Primakov Readings", including a special session with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

A guided tour of Moscow and an introduction to the history of the Russian capital

Молодежные «Примаковские чтения» — 2026: как это было?

С 20 по 25 июня в Москве прошла IX Молодежная сессия «Примаковских чтений», организованная Центром Примакова совместно с Советом молодых ученых и аспирантов ИМЭМО РАН.

В этом году программа объединила 21 молодого исследователя и специалиста из 10 стран: Болгарии, Великобритании, Вьетнама, Египта, Индии, Ирана, Китая, Пакистана, России и Турции.
