Inside EFKO: Leadership, Innovation, and a Taste of the Future
On 10 July, our InteRussia Journalism fellows visited
EFKO, a Russian food company, where they met with
Sergei Ivanov, Executive Director and member of the company's Board.
EFKO is one of Russia's leading food technology companies, known not only for producing food products, but also for investing in biotechnology, alternative proteins, and innovative approaches to sustainable food production.
During the meeting, participants discussed:

Why empathy is not a weakness, but a leadership strategy;

How the African philosophy of
Ubuntu — "I am because we are" — inspires EFKO's approach to management and international cooperation;

The company's projects across Africa and its vision for long-term partnerships;

How innovation is transforming the future of food and biotechnology.
And because the best way to understand innovation is to experience it, the fellows also tasted one of EFKO's signature developments —
sugar-free sweets made with sweet protein.
The programme is implemented by Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation together with the Gorchakov Fund and the International Information Agency and Radio Sputnik as part of the
SputnikPro
programme. The fellowship is held within Rossotrudnichestvo's flagship
New Generation
programme with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
