Ethio telecom CEO Calls for a Coordinated Strategy to Accelerate Africa’s Digital Transformation at the GSMA Ministerial Roundtable during #MWC Barcelona 2026

On the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, the CEO of Ethio telecom, Frehiwot Tamru, participated in the #GSMA Ministerial Programme Roundtable on the Digital Africa Index, where policymakers, regulators, development partners, and telecom industry leaders gathered to discuss strategies to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation and close the continent’s persistent digital divide


During the discussion, CEO Frehiwot Tamru commended GSMA and GSMA Intelligence for developing and publishing the Digital Africa Index, noting that the initiative provides valuable insights into Africa’s digital transformation progress.
