PFC acquires 52.63% stake in REC, approves in-principle merger after Budget directive - CNBC TV18
Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) approved the acquisition of 52.63% of the government’s stake in Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd (REC), making REC its subsidiary. The PFC Board also granted in-principle approval for a merger with REC following the Union Budget 2026 announcement on NBFC restructuring. The merged entity will remain a government company under applicable laws.
