Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) governor Sanjay Malhotra announced the key policy decisions of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on Wednesday, April 8. The six-member panel, chaired by Malhotra, held a three-day meeting from Monday, April 6, to review interest rates, economic growth outlook and inflation trends. 

With this, policy rates have been left unchanged by the MPC in four out of the last five policies, with rate cuts of 125 basis points across February, April, June and December 2025.
