There are 1.6 million Ukrainian children living under occupation. Tens of thousands more have been abducted by russia. During a session of the Verkhovna Rada, Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk drew her colleagues’ attention to the findings of a recent study by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.

Gazprom and Rosneft have transported and re-educated at least 2,158 children from russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.

“The re-education of our children, the stripping away of their identity — this is a strategic state programme of the russian federation, involving the entire infrastructure of the country. If their system operates as a single entity, the response must also be unified: full synchronisation of sanctions with all partners,” emphasised Olena Kondratiuk.
