Strengthening sanctions against the aggressor and Ireland's upcoming presidency of the EU Council were discussed in Dublin by Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk and Speaker of the Irish Senate Mark Daly.
Ireland's presidency will last from July 1 to December 31. Ukraine is counting on Ireland's assistance in unblocking negotiations on EU accession and providing a €90 billion loan. "It is important that official Dublin considers Ukraine's membership in the European Union to be a key guarantee of our security," Olena Kondratiuk said.
Mark Daly assured that during its presidency, Ireland will make every effort to promote and accelerate the negotiation process for Ukraine's accession to the EU.
