The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, responded to accusations by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, that Ukraine was ungrateful for Georgia's support of the UN resolution:

"Well, ნათქვამი სიტყვა ხანჯალი არ არის — ქართულში ვეღარ ჩააგებ. Ukrainians are a grateful nation.
And we are certainly grateful to the Georgian people.
A nation that knows exactly what dignity is.
A nation that boldly takes to the streets of their cities in support of Ukraine.
A people who, as part of Georgian volunteer battalions, are fighting side by side against a common russian enemy.
Against this backdrop, voting "yes" on a UN resolution that supports Ukraine and respects its territorial integrity is certainly not charity or a heroic deed. It is the minimum level of decency in 2026.
Ukraine needs real allies — those who understand that in the fight against russian evil, compliments do not count, but position and support are valued.
