Latvia's decision to allocate €10 million for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine under NATO's PUR programme is very timely. Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk thanked Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže in Riga for helping Ukraine purchase American weapons.

Full membership in the JEF military coalition of Northern European countries, of which Latvia is a member, is also important for Ukraine's security. "We hope that Latvia will support our membership and that the relevant decision will be adopted at the next JEF summit in Helsinki," Olena Kondratiuk emphasised.
