«moscow is counting on three factors: exhaustion, fatigue and the erosion of unity. That is why the role of parliaments is crucial — to transform political solidarity into stable, predictable and strategic support, enshrined in laws, budgets and democratic decisions,» said Oleksandr Korniienko, First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Co-Chair of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council (UNIC) meeting.

During the meeting, which was joined by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Oleksandr Korniienko outlined the key priorities in which national parliaments should play a leading role. These include air defence and ammunition, long-term security support, the development of strong defence industries, increased sanctions pressure on the aggressor, and Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic perspective.

«Supporting Ukraine is not an act of charity. It is an investment in the security, stability and predictability of our common future,» Oleksandr Korniienko emphasised.
