For almost two years, Ukraine has had European integration Law No. 2955-IX in place, which established rules for the development of highly efficient cogeneration.

The law regulates and encourages installations that simultaneously produce heat and electricity and provide greater energy stability for communities.
According to Andrii Herus, Chairman of the Energy and Housing and Utilities Committee, there are already examples of effective implementation of the law in Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Poltava regions.
