A just peace for Ukraine is the foundation of security for all of Europe

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has just adopted a resolution prepared by Italian politician Pier Fassino, who visited Ukraine this summer and experienced russian shelling during his stay. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian delegation, PACE Vice-President Mariia Mezentseva-Fedorenko.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe considers it necessary for the member states of the Council of Europe and their allies, in particular the United States, to join forces in the face of the threats that russia poses to Europe and global security. It calls for an immediate and complete ceasefire as a prerequisite for genuine negotiations and to prevent russia from resuming its aggression.
