Uzbekistan's musical heritage now has a digital home, accessible for anyone to freely download and share in creative endeavours - from cinematic productions to musical compositions, broadcasts, and other digital initiatives.

On June 1st, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reaffirmed that Uzbekistan's cultural legacy is not a relic of the past. It is a living, breathing part of national identity that deserves a place in the modern world.

That place now exists.

Uztelecom, together with WeDigital Agency, has launched OHANG (Melody) - a national digital platform dedicated to the music of Uzbekistan. Traditional instruments, archival recordings, research materials, and educational content - gathered in one place, accessible to anyone, anywhere.

The first field expedition covered Tashkent and the Tashkent region, capturing the sounds of 24 national instruments. Over 200 melodies are already on the platform. Expeditions across all regions of Uzbekistan are ahead - to find master musicians, record new compositions, and keep building.

Technology has a role beyond connectivity and infrastructure. It can carry culture forward. OHANG is proof of that.
