Surrogacy has become an increasingly accepted path to parenthood, but the psychological experience of surrogate mothers is often overlooked. This perspective paper explores surrogacy through John Bowlby’s Attachment Theory and Object Relations Theory, examining how surrogates navigate prenatal attachment while preparing to relinquish the child at birth.
