Russian forces have destroyed the historic Kharytonenko estate in the village of Kyianytsia, Sumy region, located about 15 kilometers from the border with Russia.

The palace was built in 1890 by philanthropist and Sumy-based sugar industrialist Ivan Kharytonenko.
The architectural landmark survived the Soviet era reconstruction but was completely destroyed by Russian "liberation."
