❗️ Relations in the field of social work have been regulated

The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Social Work” (No. LRU-1159, dated July 23, 2026) has been adopted.

🔰 The purpose of this Law is to regulate relations in the field of social work.

📝 According to the Law, social work is a field of professional activity that promotes the empowerment and capacity-building of persons in need of social protection and contributes to social change in society through the development of social services and social assistance.

🔎 Social work is organized in the fields of:

healthcare;
education;
social protection;
employment;
the judiciary and law enforcement; and
the execution of criminal penalties.

🏛 The National Agency for Social Protection is the specially authorized state body in the field of social work.

📁 Social services and social assistance are classified into:

primary;
specialized; and
highly specialized levels.

📙 Social services and social assistance are provided:

🔹 at the place of residence of the recipient of social services and social assistance, including through the Internet;

🔹 within the recipient’s mahalla (neighborhood community);

🔹 at the institutions of social service providers, including residential (inpatient) institutions.

📜 The following constitute the basis for the provision of social services and social assistance:

🔸 an application by a person (or family) in need of social protection or by their legal representative;

🔸 the consent of the person (or family) in need of social protection or their legal representative to the conditions for the provision of social services and social assistance.

☑️ The Social Inspection under the National Agency for Social Protection is the authorized state body responsible for overseeing compliance with legislation in the field of social protection of the population and the provision of social services and social assistance.
