A Presidential Resolution titled “On further measures to enhance the prestige and attractiveness of completing compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (No. RP-134, dated April 7, 2026) has been adopted.
🔰 According to the Resolution, the following benefits and guarantees are provided to citizens called up for compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
⌛️ Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year:
🔹 conscripted soldiers shall be allowed, during their service, to register as applicants for distance (part-time) bachelor’s programs of higher education institutions, participate in entrance examinations, and, based on the results, be admitted to study. In this case, soldiers admitted on a tuition-fee (contract) basis shall be granted preferential educational loans in accordance with the established procedure;
🔹 soldiers admitted to higher education institutions during their service shall be equated to students studying at military training centers of higher education institutions, and upon graduation, they shall be awarded the military rank of “lieutenant in the reserve” in accordance with the established procedure;
🔹 among soldiers who have exemplary completed compulsory military service and have won 1st place in republican and international sports competitions or academic olympiads, 100 individuals shall be selected on a competitive basis and admitted directly to higher military and higher militarized educational institutions within the established annual quota without entrance tests or individual final interviews, based on the results of preliminary selection and special professional selection;
🔹 soldiers who, during their service, win 1st place in republican or international competitions in sports included in the programs of the Olympic and Asian Games shall be admitted to the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport (in relevant fields) on a state grant basis without entrance examinations.
