The Republic of Karakalpakstan will be socio-economically developed in 2026

The Presidential Resolution (PD–70, 21.02.2026) “On the socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2026 and the approval of programs for the coming years” was adopted.

🔰 According to the Resolution, the main goals for the sustainable socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan have been established, including:

🔹 By the end of 2026:

▪️ increase the volume of gross regional product (GRP) by 8.1%, and the volume of industrial production by 8%;

▪️ reduce the unemployment rate to 4.2% and the poverty rate to 3.2%; transform the city of Nukus, Kungrad and Chimbay districts, as well as 109 mahallas, into zones free from unemployment and poverty;

🔹 By 2030:

▫️ reach the volume of gross regional product to 102.4 trillion UZS, agricultural production to 28.9 trillion UZS, and implement projects in the field of industry and services for a total equivalent of 7.2 billion USD;

▫️ reach the export volume to 900 million USD.

❌ The position of the First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan on issues of ecology and development of the Aral Sea region is abolished.

❇️ The position of the First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers on issues of organizing the efficient use of pastures, strengthening the fodder base, and livestock development is introduced.
