"Smart" migration stations will be established

The Presidential resoluliton "On measures to raise the activity of internal affairs bodies in the field of migration and personalization to a qualitatively new level through digitalization" (No. RP–14, dated January 19, 2026) has been adopted.

🏛 According to the decision, from May 1, 2026, "Smart" migration stations based on artificial intelligence with self-service capabilities will be established as an experiment in one district (city) unit of the migration and personalization divisions in the Tashkent, Samarkand, and Fergana regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In this regard:

🔹 at the initial stage, defined state services will be provided at the "Smart" migration stations;

🔹 the types of self-provided services will be gradually expanded by the Ministry of internal affairs.

⏳ From May 1, 2026, the Department of Migration and Personalization and its territorial branches will be granted the right to extend the validity period of electronic visas of foreign citizens and stateless persons who entered Uzbekistan on the basis of an electronic entry visa once for up to 30 days.

✅ The authority to issue confirmations giving foreign citizens the right to carry out labor activity in the territory of Uzbekistan will also be granted to the Department and its territorial branches.

📝 From September 1, 2026, a composite procedure for registering students at their place of residence will be introduced simultaneously with the conclusion of a contract for placement in a student dormitory.
