Tourist flows will be increased through the “Umrah Plus” pilgrimage tourism program

A Government Resolution “On additional measures aimed at implementing the ‘Umrah Plus’ pilgrimage tourism program” (No. 6, dated 9 January 2025) has been adopted.

💸 According to the Resolution, by the end of 2026, the Tourism Committee shall allocate a subsidy of USD 100 per tourist to tour operators attracting tourists from Malaysia and Indonesia under the “Umrah Plus” pilgrimage tourism program (the Program).

✅ Starting from 15 January 2026:

🔹 an enhanced promotional campaign for the Program will be implemented in Malaysia and Indonesia;

🔹 online sales of tourism packages formed under the Program will be launched by tour operators (travel agents) through the National Unified Tourism Platform.

🏛 In order to train qualified personnel for the implementation of the Program, a training and practical laboratory will be established at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.

📝 Joint educational programs in the field and specializations of “Tourism and Hospitality” will be launched between the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and higher education institutions of Malaysia.
