Traffic congestion will be reduced

A Presidential Resolution “On additional measures aimed at improving the management of the transport system of Tashkent City and preventing traffic congestion” (No. PR–368, dated 04.12.2025) has been adopted.

🔰 The Resolution approves the target indicators for the development of the Tashkent City transport system until 2030, including:

🔹 increasing the share of the population using public transport to 60 percent;
🔹 increasing the average bus speed from 18 km/h to 24 km/h;
🔹 establishing parking facilities for 150,000 vehicles;
🔹 extending the metro network to 103 km.

🏛 A Tashkent City Traffic Management Center will be established.

✅ The Center’s main tasks include, in particular:

🔸 organizing traffic flows in Tashkent City based on continuous monitoring of transport, passenger, and pedestrian movements through the use of modern digital and “green” technologies;

🔸 developing the transport master plan of Tashkent City;

🔸 creating multi-level parking facilities at intersections of major incoming highways with public transport hubs (bus and metro stations);

🔸 organizing parking spaces under above-ground metro lines and overpasses in Tashkent City in compliance with safety requirements.
