The archive business sector will be digitalized

The Presidential Decree (PD–228, November 24, 2025) "On measures for digitalizing the archive business sector and further increasing management efficiency in the sector" was adopted.

🔰 According to the Decree, the following were defined as the main objectives for the digitalization of the archive sector and the creation of an effective management system in the sector until 2030, including:

🔹 reaching 60 percent digitalization of national archive fund documents;

🔹 reaching 100 percent electronic service provision and reducing the service provision time by at least 3 times.

✅ The single national archive information system will be introduced based on the current archive information systems used for digitalizing archive services starting from June 1, 2026.

✔️ The digitalization of archive documents will be carried out in the following stages:

▪️ stage 1 (2025–2027) – archive documents related to specially valuable and unique documents, property, and land;

▪️ stage 2 (2028–2029) – cinema, photo, phono, and scientific-technical archive documents;

▪️ stage 3 (From 2030) – other archive documents of the national archive fund.
