Numbers are a Luxury Asset
Have you ever imagined that numbers,
which at the very start cost 9 TON (~$18), would one day become a first-class asset for collecting? Your favorite Kate Smith certainly didn't know that. "If I knew then what I know now…"
Numbers can also be classified as
Veblen good: the higher the price, the more desirable they become for the end buyer, which clearly contradicts the
law of demand. Why does this happen? The answer lies in human psychology.
We are social animals and want to have what our neighbor, friend or family member has in order to show that we are "in the pack" and emphasize our social status.
Remember the hype for gifts. Pictures that cost nothing were bought and sold for tens of thousands of dollars because the topic was so artificially promoted and new investors were ready to buy them up on the feeling of FOMO.
Many haters say: "Humanity has no pressing need to buy pixels for big money, and it's unlikely that it ever will." They said the same thing about Bitcoin when it was $1 and now it's over $90,000. They said the same thing about ETH when it was $0.5 and now it's $3,000. They said the same thing about TON when it was $0.6 and now it's $1,6 (and may be $10-15+ in a few months 🤫).
Never listen to haters, but always listen to reasonable criticism. Doubt everything. Be critical of your beliefs.
