We expect it to be TON DNS.

Why are we so confident?

1. This collection was created over three years ago, in August 2022. Gifts were created in late 2024, and six months later, their price was already 100-400x the initial price. TON DNS has many times more utilities than numbers, gifts, and usernames combined, so over three years of development, 100-400x is nothing to them. They will make thousands and tens of thousands of X's in the near future.

2. TON unlocks are ongoing. The ability to "freeze" TON from retailers and reduce potential pressure on the order book using NFTs is an excellent strategy. This is evidenced by Telegram unlocking many usernames and putting them up for auction (e.g., @devil).

3. The opportunity to sell a huge amount of TON on the hype. Imagine a situation where you can mint a 4L domain (0520.ton) for 100 TON ($220) now, but no one is interested. But when TON is $10, everyone will be interested in minting 100 TON ($1,000). Because that's human psychology 🤷‍♀️

4. Pavel Durov's post about a free internet, as well as the TON Foundation's coverage of the topic, clearly show that Web 3.0 has not been forgotten.

5. Domains must be renewed annually by sending a symbolic sum to the domain's smart contract address. Over the past three years, many domains have changed owners, some even several times. These assets have been redistributed from weak to strong hands, indicating that this market is ready to grow and move to the next level of maturity.

6. Marketing. TON DNS is similar to ENS Domains, with the difference being the ability to create products (TON wallet short name, Web 3.0 Website, TON Storage) for a billion-strong audience.

7. Regulators continue to block WEB 2.0 resources. In this regard, TON Browser should be a lifesaver.

UPD: This post was written before Pavel Durov's announcement of Cocoon. To avoid editing the information post-factum, we will stick to our thoughts and not deviate from them, even though AI was likely chosen as the next hype. Perhaps this is the essence of the lead-up to free Web 3.0 and TON DNS in particular. Only time will tell whether we are right or wrong.
