Wallet in the US: Shell Game by The Open Platform

I’m amazed at how TON Foundation and The Open Platform keep misleading people. I wasn’t going to write this post until I saw several channels claiming that the wallet will allow US citizens to store and trade cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Toncoin — directly in Telegram.

Hello? You’ve been tricked The truth is that The Open Platform has two products: Wallet and TON Space.

Wallet is a custodial service: all funds are held on the project’s wallets, basically just a database with your balances. The project’s base is in Panama and owned by TG Wallet Inc.

TON Space is a non-custodial wallet. You’re given a seed phrase, and you can even use it to log into Tonkeeper. It’s a regular crypto wallet, no different from what any American can download from the App Store. This project is based in Seychelles and owned by TON Space Ltd.

So, these are two different products Now, watch closely.

In early July 2025, The Open Platform rebranded both products:
Wallet became Crypto Wallet,
TON Space became TON Wallet.

Then comes the news that TON Wallet is now available in the US. Due to the name confusion, channels and media start spreading nonsense, thinking that Wallet (the one inside Telegram) has launched in the US.

But it hasn’t — it’s still unavailable to US citizens. They simply rebranded TON Space and used it as a marketing boost for Wallet and Telegram.

Why would US citizens use TON Wallet when Tonkeeper, Tonhub, and MyTonWallet are much more convenient non-custodial wallets? And if they need a custodial option, xRocket is a far better choice.

In short, The Open Platform is once again creating buzz through misdirection — and they’re good at it, because hardly anyone realizes that Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana don’t exist on the TON blockchain. And I doubt 87 million Americans will bother to check
