Dmitry Eremeev is the dark horse of TON

Channels dedicated to TON are increasingly turning into discussions about Pavel Durov's life rather than the blockchain ecosystem itself. But since these topics seem to interest many, let me tell you about another elusive figure within the TON blockchain—Dmitry Eremeev.

Let's start, as usual, with publicly available information. From articles in Business Gazeta and The Bell, we can gather that Dmitry is a successful entrepreneur from Kazan who was a partner at VKontakte. It was there that he met the Durov brothers and Ilya Perekopsky (Telegram’s vice president). Colleagues and partners speak of him exclusively positively, and no negative information about him could be found.

Dmitry himself mentions that he participated in the infamous Telegram ICO (Gram), though he doesn’t comment on how much he invested. He also mentions occasionally meeting with Pavel Durov and describes him as an “open person, whom you can always write to and ask questions.” According to Eremeev, they are on good terms, and he actively supports Durov.

When Pavel Durov began facing issues with the SEC, and the Gram (TON) project went into “free flight,” Dmitry disappeared from the public eye, and in May 2022, he even stepped down from his bank’s board of directors. What did he turn to? I think it's obvious—TON.

In 2022, Andrey Rogozov (former CEO of VKontakte) also transitioned to TON and founded FS Labs, which brought in former VK employees. “Dmitry can simultaneously develop dozens of companies in completely different areas,” says the vice president of Telegram. And it turned out that way: he managed several bots on Telegram related to TON, and then the idea emerged to bring all the products together in one place.

Dmitry and Andrey began creating products for the TON ecosystem and contributed to projects like Tonkeeper, STONfi, Getgems, Tonapi, Donate, Tribute, Wallet, Notcoin, and the entire "monopoly," which the majority of the TON community has rightfully opposed since 2022. Little was known about FS Labs, except for its connection to Telegram and the TON Foundation. The company’s documents were inaccessible for a long time. However, after the rebranding to The Open Platform (TOP), information started to emerge.

TOP Innovations Ltd registration number 15173833 is registered in the UK. The documents name three individuals: Andrey Rogozov, Alexander Tamas (founder of Vy Capital and former managing director of Mail.ru), and Dmitry Eremeev. @wallet also came under TOP’s control, but if you dig deeper, you’ll find that its creator, Timur, was the former executive director of a company founded by Eremeev. Timur left the company after the wallet came under TOP’s control.

To avoid the wallet being associated with Telegram, TOP transferred it to WOT Global Solution Ltd. According to the wallet’s channel, this is a subsidiary of TOP, existing since 2023. However, there is no public data about it—no website, no available documents, and the legal ownership of @wallet remains unclear.

Talking about Rogozov and Eremeev’s connection to the Russian government seems pointless—the internet is full of photos of them with government members. Rogozov's time at VKontakte is also characterized by expanded cooperation with the Russian authorities and tighter content moderation. When Pavel Durov began having legal issues in France, the TOP website suddenly stopped working, and mentions of TOP were removed from the websites of projects the team had invested in or co-owned, such as STON or Tonstakers.

As for the third key figure, Alexander Tamas, he previously managed the funds of Yuri Milner and Alisher Usmanov and later founded Vy Capital. After 2022, little is known about him, but I believe he still controls TOP, as it’s his money.

So who is this Dmitry Eremeev, and why is he so afraid of publicity and open association with TON? The question remains open.
