Continuing our #MGIMOinside series about student organizations at MGIMO University, today we’re telling you about
the Student Research Society!
The MGIMO Student Research Society (SRS) brings together
the most ambitious and forward-thinking students at the university — those ready to create major projects, conduct large-scale research, and shape the future of student science.
The SRS mission is to create opportunities for students to grow and get involved in research.
Many people think science is boring and disconnected from real life. But even if you don’t plan to pursue a scientific career, the skills it develops — working with data, academic writing, and expressing ideas clearly — are valuable in any profession.
The SRS unites
47 student clubs. Broadly, they fall into two categories:
Functional clubs (focused on politics, business, ecology, PR, and more);
Regional clubs, which focus on a specific region or language.
The SRS organizes the
annual international research forum MGIMO New-Sci Generation Symposium and publishes
the International Aspect research journal of the School of International Relations.
As part of the Student Research Society, students:
independently carry out large-scale projects with university support;
hold meetings with leading experts in various fields;
take part in student research forums and conferences across Russia;
connect with potential employers and complete internships;
gain experience in event management and make new friends.
