The Taliban Supreme Court says it has punished three people in the provinces of Paktia and Badghis on charges of breaking the fast and making threats to kill.

In separate statements on Monday, April 20, the court said that one person in the Zurmat district of Paktia was sentenced to three years in prison and 10 lashes for allegedly issuing a death threat.

It also said that two other individuals in the Dara-e-Bum district of Badghis were each sentenced to two months in prison and 20 lashes on charges of breaking the fast.
