Local sources in Badakhshan Province say that following clashes over mineral resources and gold mines among members of the Taliban in Yawan District, hundreds of families from several villages have been displaced.

Sources said on Sunday night, April 19, that the clashes began about a week ago and are still ongoing.

They added that several Taliban members have been killed and several others wounded during the fighting.
