The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan has said that 18,616 women entrepreneurs were supported in Afghanistan during 2025.
In a message posted on X on Monday, April 20, the organization added that this has strengthened women’s participation in economic activities through small and medium-sized enterprises in the country.
The UN also said the day before that the continued ban on girls’ secondary education by the Taliban remains the most significant structural barrier to the equitable development of human capital.
