Girls who have been deprived of education and work due to Taliban restrictions are worried about their future. They say they are 10 sisters, their father is ill, but because of the broad restrictions imposed by the Taliban, they are unable to find jobs. These girls stress that their current situation and future are extremely concerning. The mother of these girls says she wants her daughters to be educated and, by having jobs, to help sustain the family’s economic cycle. Meanwhile, several education activists have warned that the continuation of the ban on girls’ education will lead to the perpetuation of the cycle of poverty.

Latifa Saeedi, one of the 10 sisters, is more concerned than others about her family’s future. She, who is responsible for household chores, is deeply worried about the continued ban on girls’ education. In her view, if she and her sisters are not able to study, how will they be able to meet their family’s needs in these difficult circumstances?

This girl says, “My father is sick. We are 10 sisters, and we do not have a brother. Our economic situation is very bad. If we girls are not allowed education and schooling, how can we find jobs and meet our family’s needs? This situation is very discouraging for us.”
