In the world of IT technologies and the Internet, there are always people who want to take possession of other people's money. And often, beginners become victims. Any resource or project with the possibility of earning money is a popular place for scammers to find their victims.

How it works:

Scammers find an attractive online project and create fake accounts using unreal names and photos. Their next step is communicating with potential victims.

If a stranger wrote to you or you received a mass mailing, the first things you need to consider are the following points:

Mutual groups. You can check this simply by clicking on the account that messaged you. If there are no mutual groups, but the sender claims that you are in the same chat, then it is likely to be a scammer;

Photo. If there is a photo in the profile of the account that messaged you, we recommend downloading it and run it through your browser. Many browsers have the image search function, which makes it easy to find the true owner of the photo. An honest person wouldn't try to pretend to be someone else;

An account that impersonates project administration or a specific official figure should raise suspicion: would the top figures really be engaging with other users in direct messages? If you have doubts, it is easy to check it by looking at the accounts of the administration in the official sources of the project;

Pay attention to the text: official representatives, leaders, and other public figures will never ask you for money.

Scammers' manipulation tactics:

They may pretend to be beginners and ask to share your device screen during a video call to explain the operation of a bot, exchange, or other topic. Never respond to such requests and avoid sharing personal information or access to your device in such situations;

They may ask for advice or support, creating a sense of confidence in the victim and lowering their guard, making the victim more susceptible to manipulation;

They may pretend to be experienced users with high income and in-deph knowledge. Often such individuals will provide superficial information, using complex terminology to try to mislead you. The victim may start trusting such a person as a mentor;

They may also introduce themselves as inexperienced users and start a conversation that later turns into an offer to learn about another project. As a result, you find yourself in a chat where you are persuaded by shared beliefs to engage in investments or deals.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Adjust the privacy settings of your Telegram account:
- Enable two-factor authentication;
- Disable the option for others to add you to groups;
- Hide your phone number from other users (when adding to contacts, uncheck "show my phone number");
Avoid clicking on suspicious links with "amazing offers";
Verify information on independent resources;
Verify the accounts of new contacts;
Analyze your partner's behavior and dialogue.

ATTENTION:
Remember that no one from the administration will ever initiate contact with you via private messages;
Do not click on third-party links sent to you by others;
Never provide access to your accounts on bots, exchanges, wallets, or other platforms;
Avoid displaying your profiles or exchange accounts to unfamiliar users.
