How to manage Gifts: a guide

Lots of gifts, even more questions. How to trade? How to transfer to Telegram and dress up your profile? Catch this memo so you don't get lost between offchain and onchain.

How to make a Telegram Gift truly yours?
A regular Gift is tied to a Telegram account. To get full control and turn it into personal property, you need to move it to the blockchain:

• Transfer the gift to Getgems (via @gemsrelayer). It’s still offchain, but now it's on your wallet.
• The Gift is locked for 14 days for security; after that, the "Mint Gift" button will appear (this turns the Gift into an NFT).
• The Gift becomes an NFT in your personal wallet — you own it on the blockchain.

How to turn an offchain Gift from Getgems into an NFT? (mint)
If your offchain Gift is already on Getgems, you can send it to the blockchain:

• Click "Mint Gift" on the Gift page or in multi-select mode.
• Important: the Gift is locked for 14 days after using @gemsrelayer (the timer will show the date).
• The NFT lands in your wallet. Now you are the owner of a blockchain asset.

How to display a Gift from Getgems in Telegram?
It all depends on its status:

For offchain: if the Gift is in your Getgems profile (or sent via @gemsrelayer), click "Withdraw a Gift". You'll get it via the bot and can add it to your profile.

For onchain: if it's already an NFT in your wallet, go to Fragment.com (My Assets → Gifts). Select "Displayed in: Wallet" and click Save. The Gift will appear in Telegram without KYC, staying in your wallet.

Gift Transfer: if you want to move an NFT Gift to your Telegram account, select "Transfer to Telegram" on Fragment.com. Fragment may request KYC for this.

The bottom line:

Want to trade without fees? — keep it offchain.
Want a blockchain asset? — mint.
Want to show off in your profile? — use Fragment.
