Today the European Commission presented its first-ever European Industrial Defence Strategy, which will create a more modern defence industry ready to tackle future threats and ensure our security is built at home.

This strategy will move the EU to a more structured defence industry providing EU countries with the full range of capabilities they require.

It will:
🔸 Support collective defence demand
🔹 Secure availability of all defence products
🔸 Ensure budget support

To achieve this, we are also proposing a European Defence Investment Programme.

It will include:
🔹 €1.5 billion of financial support from 2025 to 2027
🔹 A framework to boost collaboration between EU countries
🔸 A regime to ensure availability and security of defence products

The EU has proven that it will support Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Our action is pivotal to support Ukraine in its defence against Russia’s aggression and to reinforce the EU's position as a strong and reliable security provider.
