The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) of Qatar has awarded two long-term contracts for the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the national road network, with a total value of approximately USD 931 million.

A joint venture between China Harbor Engineering Co. and Alcat Contracting Co. will manage the Qatar South region under a USD 494 million contract, while a consortium of Al Mohannadi for Roads and Aktor Qatar will handle the Qatar North region for USD 460 million. The 10-year framework agreements cover civil works, tunnel infrastructure, structural maintenance, safety features, lighting, and ITS equipment.
