GM, degens!

We’re kicking off a small brain-numbing educational series for beginners. Even if you think you’re an “experienced trader”, read on — you might finally learn why you keep ending up in the red.

We’ve gathered over 50 of the most used terms from the degen world and will break them down in a series of short posts. We’ll start with the basics — without them, your chances of getting rekt this Memelandia are much higher than making it.

Let’s start!

• Сap — market capitalization of a token. Easy one, move on.
• Dev — the developer or creator. He’ll either rug you or actually build something decent.
• Bond — from bonding curve, the token launch phase on a DEX where price rises with every buy until it “bonds” and starts trading normally.
• DEX — decentralized exchange. The place where our beloved tokens live.
• Buyback — when a team or whales buy tokens off the market to support the price and dump on you later.
• Launch — when a token or project goes live.
• Unwrap — converting the wrapped version of a token (like wTON → TON), usually after it lists on a DEX.
• Lock — token or liquidity lock for a set period. Teams do it to look serious.
• Unlock — when those tokens finally unlock. Often means a big dump is coming — unless the team steps in for a buyback.
• Dip — a sharp price drop. Panic for some, discount for others.
• Farm — not the vegetable kind. A network of wallets run by one trader to pump, dump, or just fake some activity.
