Several instant loan apps circulating on Google Play have been repeatedly reported by users for data harvesting, harassment, blackmail-style recovery tactics, and unauthorised access to contacts and photos.

Many such apps are linked to hostile foreign networks.

These apps often promise quick approval in minutes. In reality, they may request access to your contacts, gallery, SMS, and files. Once permissions are granted, misuse begins.

Before installing any loan app:
•Check if the lender is registered with RBI as a bank or NBFC.
•Verify the official website and customer support details.
•Read real user reviews carefully.
•Never share OTPs, PAN, Aadhaar, or bank credentials casually.
•Do not allow unnecessary permissions like contacts or gallery access.

If you suspect fraud, report immediately on 1930 or at cybercrime.gov.in
