'Like Covid pandemic, we have to be ready again,' says PM Modi on West Asia crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday told the Lok Sabha that the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict — now in its third week — is having a severe impact on India across economic, national security, and humanitarian fronts. With over 1 crore Indians living and working in Gulf nations, Modi said the government is closely monitoring shipping routes to ensure uninterrupted supply of oil, gas, and fertilisers. India has evacuated 1,000 nationals, including 700 medical students, from Iran. Modi also highlighted India's energy diversification — now importing from 41 countries — and confirmed two rounds of diplomatic calls with West Asian leaders to ensure the safety of Indian citizens.
