Cbonds Global Monthly Newsletter Issue Statistic and League Tables for May 2025
The report gives data on global EM and DM, regions Asia, LatAM, CEE, CIS, the Middle East and Africa, and country page for the USA. Newsletter also provides ESG debt instruments data and statistics on international bond market debut issuers.
May Highlights:
The amount of new issues significantly increased in May 2025 for 28% compared to April 2025. Moreover, the amount of new issues on the DM market and the total amount of issues are also slightly higher than last year's figures by 4% and 6%, respectively, compared to May 2024. A slight decline is demonstrated by the EM market, which is lower than last year's figure by 7% compared to May 2024. The amount of bonds issued on the Asian market has significantly increased for almost 75% compared to April 2025.
Only 7 sovereign issuers tapped the global debt market in May 2025, placing 11 Eurobonds for a total of $5.9 bn, which is 10% less compared to April 2025. Turkey was the most active participant of sovereign debt market with Eurobond for the amount equal to $2.0 bn.
Debut issuers raised $28.0 bn on the international bond market in May 2025, which is 62% lmore than in the previous month. Emerging market emitents share is equal to 28% in May. Grupo Nutresa S.A., Colombian multinational food processing conglomerate headquartered in Medell?n, issued largest debut Eurobond of April for $2.0 bn in two tranches.
The amount of new ESG issues placed in May 2025 is equal to $40.6 bn. This month's amount of newly issued ESG bonds is 40% more compared to May 2024 and is the highest amount since January 2025. Green bonds represent the largest part of all ESG issues placed in 2025 - 45%.
