Cbonds Global Monthly Newsletter Issue Statistic and League Tables for April 2025

The report gives data on global EM and DM, regions Asia, LatAM, CEE, CIS, the Middle East and Africa, and country page for the USA. Newsletter also provides ESG debt instruments data and statistics on international bond market debut issuers.

April Highlights:

The amount of new issues significantly decreased in April 2025 for 33% compared to March 2025. Moreover, the amount of new issues on the DM market and the total amount of issues are also lower than last year's figures by 24% and 23%, respectively, compared to April 2024. A less significant decline is demonstrated by the EM market, which is lower than last year's figure by 9% compared to April 2024. The amount of bonds issued on the Asian market has significantly decreased, by 3.6 times in April 2025.

Only 6 sovereign issuers tapped the global debt market in April 2025, placing 9 Eurobonds for a total of $6.6 bn, what is more than two times less compared to March 2025. Colombia was the most active participant of sovereign debt market with Eurobond for the amount equal to $3.8 bn. LatAm and Middle East emitents issued 95% of all sovereign Eurobonds of this month.

Debut issuers raised $20.2 bn on the international bond market in April 2025, which is 44% less than in the previous month. Emerging market emitents share is equal to 36% in April. Paychex, Inc. American provider of payroll, human resource, and benefits outsourcing solutions for small to medium-sized businesses, issued largest debut Eurobond of April for $3.9 bn in three tranches.

The amount of new ESG issues placed in April 2025 is equal to $21.3 bn. This month's amount of newly issued ESG bonds is 33% less compared to April 2024 and is the lowest amount of 2025. Sustainability bonds represent the largest part of all ESG issues placed in 2025 - 42%.
