Five High School Students to Mark Future of Cambodia’s Economy in China
Young Cambodians are stepping onto the global stage to represent Cambodia in the country’s first delegation to take part in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) in China.
The top five students—Phan Phoapphasukar, Tang Ngy Meng, Nguon Vongvisal, Lor Sokyou and Te Sokuntheary—competed among over 100 students across Phnom Penh to prove that confidence, creativity, and hard work can take them anywhere.
From tackling the education and skills gap to presenting data-driven solutions, they represent for the future leaders of Cambodia’s economy.
IEO is an annual international competition for high school students whose goal is to deepen their understanding of economics and financial literacy. The 2026 competition features participation from more than 60 countries worldwide, and the world finals will take place in China in July.
