India’s restaurant industry is facing a severe disruption due to a shortage of commercial LPG cylinders, with losses estimated at up to ₹79,000 crore a month, according to a survey conducted by the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI). The crisis has forced nearly 10 per cent of restaurants to shut temporarily, while 60–70 per cent have shifted to alternative fuels and reduced operations.
