This action by the Trump administration threatens the identity of all Iranians and seems to stem from a fundamental mistake: the failure to distinguish between the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic.
We therefore call on all countries around the world to respect our historical rights and support global efforts to preserve the name ‘Persian Gulf.’
