Blood pheasants, with stunningly colorful feathers, were recently spotted amid the snowy landscapes of the Qilian Mountain National Nature Reserve in northwest China’s Gansu Province. The species, under second-class national protection, primarily inhabits areas at altitudes of 2,000 to 4,500 meters.
