China has discovered a new rare-earth mineral, Xianhuaite-(La), at Bayan Obo deposit in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, marking the 29th mineral identified at the site. This niobate mineral has been officially recognized by the International Mineralogical Association.
