China's first ultra-large trailing suction hopper dredger with a distributed pump system recently hit the water in Qidong, east China's Jiangsu Province. Equipped with the country's self-developed new-generation intelligent monitoring platform, the 180-meter-long, 36-meter-wide vessel can dredge to depths of up to 120 meters and has a hopper capacity of approximately 27,580 cubic meters.
