The Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on futures is proposed to be increased to 0.05% from the present 0.02%. Further, STT on options—both on the premium and on the exercise of options—is proposed to be raised to 0.15%, from the current rates of 0.1% and 0.125%, respectively.
