�� Crazy story!! How did the $280 million Drift protocol hack happened?

Drift Protocol says its April 1 hack was a 6-month trust-building operation.

Attackers posed as a quant trading firm, met Drift contributors at major crypto conferences, stayed in touch for months, and even deposited $1M+ to look legitimate.

Then they used that trust to strike:
- Got one contributor to clone a “shared” code repo
- Got another to install a TestFlight app pitched as a wallet product

This wasn’t a quick exploit. It was a long con.

Security reminder:
- Test unknown apps/tools only on isolated devices
- Never clone repos or open links on machines connected to multisig ops
