During the Inter-Ministerial media briefing on the prevailing situation in West Asia, Randhir Jaiswal, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs said that we welcome the ceasefire reached and hope that it leads to a lasting peace in West Asia, as we have continuously advocated earlier, de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy are essential to bring an early end to the ongoing conflict.

He also said that India has always been in favour of peace and we welcome all steps that lead to peace and stability.
